Dear PWMC members and friends,  
Being the host of this year's conference, the SOCSKSARGEN Cluster cordially invites you to participate in the National Conference on Climate Change Adaptation in Watershed Context and PWMC 9th National General Assembly to be held at Diosdado Macapagal Gymnasium, Provincial Capitol, Province of Sultan Kudarat, Mindanao, on November 10-12, 2009.
The three-day activity is characterized by combination of visits in selected sites, case presentation, poster presentation and small group discussions. Business meetings will also be conducted.

The theme is “Sharing Experiences in Climate Change Adaptation in Watershed Context.” We would like to highlight innovative, cost-effective local actions built on partnership engagements. The sub-themes are the following:

  • Water and agriculture
  • Natural hazard impact reduction
  • Land use planning and physical development
  • Participatory ecological governance
  • Agro-forestry and upland protection
  • River and inland water management
  • Health impacts and alternative livelihoods
The call for abstract is now open until October 5, 2009. Interested case presenters are encouraged to submit their abstract with 300 words maximum (Times New Roman 12) following one or more of the sub-themes. Notification to authors/presenters is October 12, 2009.
We also would like to encourage participants to bring posters with the standard size of 2x3 ft. We are allotting time for simultaneous poster presentation with small group discussions. We will classify posters according to sub-themes. Final confirmation for submission of posters is October 20, 2009.
